One of the excursions that can be made from
"La Charola" is to Barcena Mayor.
It is a town rescued from the past, with stone
houses and streets that will make you enjoy
the pleasure of the old times.
Close to La Charola we will find this traditional
blacksmith shop, one that stays in operation as
a museum. Every day there are exhibitions, so
that we are able to see the operating of this
jewel of our culture.
Located in Picos de Europa, it
is the perfect excursion for a day in the mountains,
breathing the pure air of Cantabria’s mountains.
There are many restaurants nearby where to eat
the traditional cocido montañes (stew).
